QR time tracking on site: your questions answered
Do I need a fixed device to clock in on site?
No. All you need on site is a sign with the printed QR code. Workers clock in with their own smartphone through the V-Site app: no time clock and no tablet to look after.
How do you stop a worker clocking in for a colleague?
Every clock-in is tied to the worker's personal account, their device and the GPS position recorded at the moment of the scan. Clock-ins outside the site perimeter are flagged to the office.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. If there is no signal on site, the clock-in is saved on the phone with time and position and synchronised automatically as soon as the connection returns.
Can the time records be used for payroll?
Yes. The recorded hours feed the attendance module and are exported in a report ready for your payroll provider or payroll software. See payroll and payslips.
